JARVIS Husqvarna’s Graham Jarvis won his fifth Erzberg Rodeo at the ripe young age of 44, tying him for most all-time with Taddy Blazusiak.
FLORIDA The sunshine state’s return to Lucas Oil Pro Motocross was by all accounts a successful one—well, at least the first moto. The hot weather affected some more than others, as Chase Sexton, Ken Roczen, and more would tell you. Same time next year? Absolutely. But maybe a little earlier.
CIANCIARULO AC92 started Lucas Oil Pro Motocross with the first winning streak of his career, taking Hangtown, Fox Raceway, Thunder Valley, and High Point in succession. We also hear whispers that he’ll be Eli Tomac’s new teammate on the Kawasaki 450 factory team for 2020 and beyond.
HERLINGS The MXGP World Champion needed all of two races to get back to the front after being out since last winter with a broken foot—and he did it with a broken ankle, winning the first moto in Latvia despite being injured in a sighting-lap mishap. He wasn’t able to ride the second moto, and now Herlings is out until at least August. Still, what a badass.
COVINGTON His horrible debut season on the AMA circuit took a turn for the even-worse when the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider dropped out of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross with the Epstein-Barr virus. No word on when the multi-time Grand Prix winner might return to the motos, though he entered timed qualifying in Florida.
