HOLESHOT ARTISTS
When a mud race approaches, a race team takes a number of different precautions for the added wear and tear, not to mention the extra weight of the mud. For JGRMX/Yoshimura Factory Racing engine builder Dean Baker, it also means that “logo artist” is added to his résumé. Dean went ahead and handcrafted the Arai, Scott, and JGR logos you see here on Kyle Peters’ helmet for all his riders under their tent. Well done, Dean!

MILLVILLE OR METALLICA
We’re big fans of motocross tracks lined with cool signs. Whether it’s Glen Helen’s famous first turn, Thunder Valley’s mountainside “Hollywood” homage, or the “distinguished alumni” billboards that line the start stretch at Loretta Lynn Ranch, we think they add a cool element that reminds riders and fans that they’re at a memorable track. But when we arrived at Spring Creek and saw the very cool update of their Millville marquee, it was almost like the hills were alive with the sound of music—from Metallica! Maybe it’s time to add a Coolest Track Sign award to our annual Racer X Best Trophy Prize?
