he Husqvarna TC 250 is an incredible bike in stock form. The engine is fast and the handling works for a wide range of riders and terrain. This engine was built by the folks at Twisted Development, and Jaime and the crew made sure we had all the power we needed. They mounted a Vertex piston inside with their cylinder and head mods, and Pro Circuit supplied the exhaust system. VP Racing Fuels provided C12, an affordable and consistent product for two-strokes. A complete Hinson clutch rounded out the engine package.
The suspension was sent to Pro Circuit where the shock was resprung and revalved, and we added a Pro Circuit link arm and strut. They also added a spring conversion kit in the forks and set them up for my weight and ability. Having worked with Bones on a setting for these bikes, I was confident I would like the outcome.
The wheels were a Dubya USA build, and they turned out as beautiful as they were durable. Dunlop tires, Moto-Master Brake Systems rotors and Supersprox sprockets rounded out the wheelset. We used a host of Works Connection parts to enhance the look, reliability, and performance of the bike. The clutch perch works better than stock, the caps look better, and the titanium pegs are a huge improvement. Renthal provided bars and grips, Pro Filter supplied the air filter, Nihilo Concepts gave us frame tape to protect and offer grip, and Maxima Racing Oils supplied us with all the oil we needed to build and maintain this machine.
I love the look of this bike, and once I had it on the track, I loved it even more. The engine had the perfect amount of raw horsepower crafted into a rideable package with a crispy sound that literally turned heads as I rode past people. The suspension was a big improvement from stock, particularly the fork. The spring kit stays planted and tracks with the ground as you make your way through the roughest of sections. The bars are a little tall for me, and I’ll likely switch to a lower bend, but the cockpit of the bike is neutral and very comfortable. I’m hoping to make it to a couple two-stroke races this year on this thing, and I won’t have any excuses—this bike is awesome.
