MEET THE NBC Sports Broadcast Team
When the curtains opened on the 2019 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season, NBC Sports was announced as the series’ new television home, and with it came a mostly new broadcast team. (From left) Ricky Carmichael is your new color commentary, Will Christien is working the podium, former racer Daniel Blair took over Ricky’s spot on the floor, and Ralph Sheheen is once again the host. They got off to a good start, too, as the first three rounds produced three different winners in each class—and everyone knows good racing makes for great TV.

THE OLD MAN AND THE T-SHIRT
One of our favorite traditions at every Anaheim opener is tracking down Honda’s Ben Cheatwood to see which super-rare and old Team Honda shirt he’s wearing. Cheatwood, one of the longest-tenured staffers at American Honda, has built an amazing collection of old tees over the years, and some of them belong in the T-Shirt Hall of Fame (if anyone ever starts one). This year, Ben pulled out a 1977 gem featuring Marty Smith at the 1977 Superbowl of Motocross at the Los Angeles Coliseum, which made his T-shirt five years older than any rider in this year’s race!
