very year there seems to be talk about parity in supercross and how it’s always the “deepest field in history,” so we decided to dive into the history books and see just how many different riders have won races, dating back to 1974.

18Consecutive main-event appearances at the opening round of Monster Energy AMA Supercross in Anaheim by JGR/Yoshimura Suzuki’s Chad Reed, breaking the old record held by Mike LaRocco.

AMA Supercross main-event wins for Eli Tomac going into 2019, the most for any rider in series history without having won the title.
Anaheim 1 450SX podium finish for Eli Tomac, which he earned this year. Prior to 2019, his best 450SX finish at the season opener was fourth.

Fine handed out to Eli Tomac for not stopping at the podium after finishing fourth in Glendale. According to the rules, the top five must all stop in case media members want to interview more than the three podium finishers.
